The importance of meaningful employer engagement …

Dec 7 @ 8:15 am - 10:15 am

Do you want to make a difference to the future labour market? Want to ensure that your future workforce are work ready and employable? Jess Widdowson from Barnsley College will be discussing the importance of meaningful employer engagements within educational settings and will give an honest insight into the challenges that Barnsley College faces in terms of preparing students for their chosen careers.

Talent United is the employer engagement scheme within Barnsley College, which was created after local and regional employers fed back to the college that people of all ages were leaving college unprepared for the world of work and lacking basic employability skills. The aim of the initiative is to bring together the leaders of today with the talent of tomorrow, to create a culture of employment across the college and provide learners with meaningful employer engagements.

There will be opportunities to find out how you can help as a Talent United partner. As a partner, you can have as much or as little involvement as you like and can select the types of activity that you would like to get involved with on the sign up form. Each and every intervention is incredibly valuable!

Talent United also provide partners with a range of discounts and benefits from discounted gym membership, use of their new Hub Space, invites to networking events, discounts off training programmes and more

This 45 minute session will not disappoint and will leave you with some thought provoking ideas to implement in your business. Don’t miss out, make sure you book today!

We’ll have our usual selection of refreshments including bacon and sausage sandwiches to help ease you into the weekend and there’ll be the opportunity to network with Business Village tenants and visitors from the wider Barnsley business community.

Doors open at 08.15 for informal networking and refreshments and presentation to start at 08.30

All other attendees can have 30 seconds (if they wish) to practise their elevator speeches. Call in at any time between 8:15 am and 10:15 am even if you can only spare 20 minutes, and don’t forget your business cards, marketing leaflets, and tenant offers.
