Mindfulness and handling stress in the workplace….

Apr 6

Heather Howard Thompson from BarnsleyBIC tenant Yorkshire Psychotherapy will discuss how to recognise signs of distress in colleagues and how therapies can benefit and help your staff and business.

Line managers and colleagues in the front line can make the biggest difference in the field of mental health at work. Reacting appropriately to signs of distress, maintaining contact with people who may be off work due to illness and constructing practical return to work plans for those recovering from mental health problems are the simple things that can prove job saving, money saving and sometimes even life saving.

Heather’s session will be interactive with the chance to practice a little mindfulness exercise at the end!

All other attendees can have 30 seconds (if they wish) to practise their elevator speeches. Call in at any time between 08:00 am and 10:00 am even if you can only spare 20 minutes, and don’t forget your business cards, marketing leaflets, and tenant offers.

We’ll have our usual selection of refreshments including bacon and sausage sandwiches to help ease you into the weekend and there’ll be plenty of opportunity to network with fellow BarnsleyBIC residents and visitors from the wider Barnsley business community.

Doors open at 08.00 for informal networking and refreshments and presentation to start at 08.30.
